  • Registered with the FDA as a Tissue Establishment and accredited by the Association for Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) and the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

  • State-of-the-art facility with HEPA filtration throughout.

  • Four processing bays

  • On site liquid nitrogen supply tanks with vacuum jacketed freezers for on-site storage of cryopreserved cells.

  • Environmental monitoring system throughout facility to measure temperature, humidity, oxygen levels, and power surges/loss of power.  UPS and generator backup.

  • Performs autologous, allogeneic, cord blood and matched unrelated donor processing of cellular therapy products and collection of bone marrow in the Northside Hospital surgery suites.

    • Designated bone marrow collection facility for NMDP and Gift of Life registries

  • Processing of cellular starting material for immune effector cells (IECs) CD34 cell selection technology.

  • Preparation of IECs and cell-based research products for infusion.

    Highly specialized and trained staff

  • Supervisor with over 20 years of experience in processing cellular therapy products and developing an Onboarding process for IEC, CAR-T and research products.

  • Laboratory Quality and Regulatory Manager with over 25 years’ experience in processing cellular therapy products and certified as both a Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) and as a Certified Advanced Biotherapy Professional (CABP).

    • Maintains HSC Laboratory in a continued state of compliance and readiness with regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

    • Currently serves on several AABB’s Cell Therapy Committees: Standards, Accreditation and Uniform Donor History Questionnaire and was a Past Chair of all 3 committees.

    • Chair of the AABB Cell Therapy Uniform Donor History Questionnaire Task Force

  • Inspector for Cellular Therapy Programs for over 25 years

  • 4 additional Medical Technologists with over 25 years of combined experience in processing cellular therapy products. 

    • 3 are certified through AABB as a Certified Advanced Biotherapy Professional (CABP).
